On Sunday October 9th, The Way to Happiness Association of Tampa Bay, a group that promotes non-religious moral values and is supported by many non-profit organizations and churches including the Church of Scientology, held their “Community Fun Day” in downtown’s Osceola Courtyard. Over 400 people from all over Tampa Bay attended the family-oriented activities with a Bouncy House, face painting, arts and crafts, a train and performances by dozens of youth from a Mexican cultural association. The evening was topped off with a Salsa Dance competition and the winners walked away with a cash prize.
Six local non-profit organizations had their booths at the event: Team Florida Football and Hard 2 Guard Basketball, both of which help young athletes train and improve their education; Groupo Folklorico Mahetzy, a Mexican cultural group, Americans for Prosperity Florida, teaching economic prosperity; and Feeding Our Children Ministries from Tampa.
The Way to Happiness Association Tampa Bay also showcased the precepts of The Way to Happiness book, in particular, “Be Competent.” The Association also invited visitors to its center which is located a few doors south of Osceola Courtyard. The Way to Happiness Center opened its doors in July 2015. Opening hours are daily from 10AM to 10PM. All are invited and like-minded groups can partner and learn about basic morals and values.
The Way to Happiness book was written and published by L. Ron Hubbard in 1981 as a nonreligious, common-sense guide to better living. Its purpose is to help arrest the current moral decline in society and restore integrity and trust to humankind. It is available in 112 languages, with some 115 million copies distributed in 186 nations. It holds the Guinness World Record as the single most-translated nonreligious book and fills the moral vacuum in an increasingly materialistic society.
If you have any questions or would like to visit the center please call (727) 467-6961.
